As social media continues to weave  itself into the fabric of our daily lives, students are among the most active users, with 95% of teenagers using platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. While social media offers numerous benefits, its impact on students is a topic of growing concern.

Social media has a positive impact on students like enhancing connectivity which enables students to stay connected with friends and family, even when physically apart. This is especially helpful for students who are away from home. Another positive impact of social media on students is providing access to educational contents, allowing students to learn new things and expand knowledge.

Social media can also impact negatively on students through addiction which is the excessive use of social media which negatively have effect on student's academic performance, relationships, and mental health. It can also lead to sleep deprivation which means exposure to screens blue light can interfere with sleep pattern and anxiety.

According to Dr. Jane Smith, an education expert, who emphasized on the importance of digital literacy skills in navigating social media safely.

"Teachers play a vital role in educating students about responsible social media use and helping them develop healthy online habits."

By understanding the impact of social media on students and implementing strategies to mitigate its negative effects, we can help students harness the benefits of social media while protecting their well-being.
